Oman calms tsunami fears after 5.6 earthquake off Salalah

Muscat: The Omani Seismological Center at Sultan Qaboos University announced an earthquake and recorded it at 9.12 pm on July 3, an earthquake in the Owen region, approximately 400 kilometers from Salalah. The earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale and was not reported to have caused any significant impact.

Another earthquake of magnitude 2.9 was also reported in Falaq Owen in the Arabian Sea, 282 km from Duqm at 9.42 AM.
