Twitch Streamer suspended for firing live pistol

 


Carl Riemer, a Call of Duty Streamer and former member of the FaZe Clan, was suspended from Twitch after accidentally firing a live pistol while live on the platform.

Streaming Riemer picked up a Glock, brought the blade twice and took a bullet out of the room. Apparently believing that the weapon was not loaded, he pulled the trigger and was visibly surprised that the Glock had fired a shot in a G-Fuel canister.

The scene was captured by the Twitter user cam834.

No one was injured in the incident, but Riemer was suspended from Twitch because the platform has a zero tolerance policy for the use of weapons. Soar Gaming, the electronic sports organization where Riemer played Call of Duty, has also removed him from his list.

In separate videos downloaded on Twitter and YouTube, Riemer spoke of the incident.

I could have hurt someone. I could have hurt myself. I could have injured one of my animals. And it's unforgivable Ive had this gun for two years, and all it takes is two seconds of stupid to spoil everything. To ruin someone else, to ruin you. Don't do what I did, said Riemer in the Twitter video.

Meanwhile, in the YouTube video, Riemer explained that he was intoxicated during the stream, in which a can of beer was spotted on his desk. He then showed a metal cup that the bullet passed through in a monitor which was also destroyed.

It is unknown how long the suspension of Riemers from Twitch will last, and the streamer said he was not sure if he would receive his earnings from last month and if he would able to get back on the platform. Riemer also acknowledged his removal from the Soar Gaming list of players, saying the eSports organization had done what it had to do.

As YouTube Gaming catches up with its biggest year-over-year increase in audience between January 2019 and January 2020, Twitch remains the king of streaming. After skipping his opportunity on Twitch, Riemers' options for the future are now cloudy, as it is unclear if other streaming platforms will recruit him after this massive shit.
