Campaigners have said that Pakistan’s personal and professional success is in the wrong way. An advertisement for skin whitening has sparked controversy in Pakistani society about what many call the country’s ‘obsession’ in getting fair skin. Although such advertisements have received criticism, cosmetics retailers and beauty salons have said there has been an increase in demand for skin lightening products and treatments in recent years.
