5.1-magnitude earthquake hits Erzurum in Turkey, no casualties

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that a 5.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Koprukoy district of Turkey’s eastern Erzurum province on Friday. There were no reports of injuries or damage so far.

The earthquake, which occurred at 3:40 pm local time, occurred at a depth of 6.9 kilometers (4.3 miles) according to initial reports in Turkish media and was felt in other provinces in the region, including Agri to the east and Diyarbakir to the east. South.

Erzurum Mayor Mehmet Sekem told Radio Haber that the walls of many one-story houses near the epicenter collapsed, but no other damages or injuries occurred.
