Holi is popularly known as the Indian festival of colors. On Sunday, the Balochistan provincial government announced a two-day vacation on March 9 and 10 for the Hindu community to celebrate Holi.

The ancient Hindu festival of Holi, which heralds the end of winter and the victory of good over evil, is marked by a national holiday in India and sees revelers pouring out into the splashed streets of colors.

Although there are no exact official figures available, the Pakistan Hindu Council says that there are currently more than 8 million Hindus living in Pakistan.
