The shock recorded 17.3k deep in Salt Spring Island

Vancouver Islanders woke up to an earthquake shortly after 4 a.m. Friday.

The US Geological Survey reported that the early morning tremor was reported with a depth of 17.3 km and 12 km northeast of the Ganges off the east coast of Vancouver Island.

Online reports show that people are feeling the rumble up and down Vancouver Island and far from the lower mainland.
