NS reports 82 people in COVID-19 hospital unit on Saturday
Nova Scotia reports that there are 82 people in the designated COVID-19 hospital unit on Saturday, 11 of whom are in the intensive care unit.
The simplified release did not contain information about the number of people hospitalized and discharged.
There are 287 people in the COVID-19 hospital:
- Eighty-two people were hospitalized for the virus.
- 84 was identified as positive on arrival, but was hospitalized for another medical reason or with COVID-19, but no longer required special care.
- 121 people were infected with COVID-19 during hospitalization.
The average age of people in the hospital is 67, Release said. Of the 82 hospitalized, 79 were hospitalized during the Omicron wave.
The state also reports confirmed cases in 502 new laboratories for COVID-19.
Of these, 219 is in the Central Health Zone, 136 is in the Western Zone, 88 is in the Eastern Zone, and 59 is in the Northern Zone.
These cases were identified from 3,682 tests completed by the Nova Scotia Health Lab on Friday.
