Syrian mercenaries refuse to fight in Libya: SOHR
LONDON, June 2 (MENA) – A state of disobedience reigns in the ranks of Syrian mercenaries sent by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to support the militias of the Libyan government of national agreement (GNA) led by Fayez El Sarraj, according to l ” Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The Syrians refuse to be recruited into the ranks of the GNA because of the losses suffered during clashes with the Libyan National Army led by General Khalifa Haftar, an observatory report quoted by Sky News reported on Tuesday.
In addition, this state of disobedience is caused by the non-payment of their financial contributions to $ 2,000 per month.
The observatory noted that Turkey is putting pressure on the commanders of the Syrian factions loyal to Ankara for sending more Syrian fighters to Libya.
Up to 339 Syrian fighters have been killed in clashes in Libya, including 20 children under the age of 18, the observatory added.
