About 1,000 earthquakes occur in Iran in one month

Tehran – The seismic networks of the University of Tehran’s Geophysics Institute recorded more than 960 earthquakes across the country during the past month (April 20 – May 20).

Nine earthquakes with a strength of more than 4 were recorded in the country by the National Seismological Center, the largest of which occurred on May 2, and its magnitude was 5.1 near Faryab in Kerman Province.

Statistically, there were 876 earthquakes with a magnitude of less than 3, and 77 earthquakes with a magnitude of 3 to 4. Also, there were 6 earthquakes with a magnitude of 4-5.

The country was also rocked by 3 earthquakes with a strength of 5-6.
