Ministry of Health provides updates on COVID-19, 621 positives bring statewide total to 84,991

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (WHTM) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health has reported 621 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, June 27, with a total of 84,991 positive cases across the state. ..

“The entire state is now in the green phase and we need to continue working to protect against COVID-19,” said Dr. Rachel Levine, Secretary of Health. “Pennsylvania was a national model for how to effectively resume using a carefully measured approach. But the virus hasn’t disappeared. Each of us wears a mask and social distance. We are responsible for continuing to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and others by maintaining and washing our hands frequently.We are both the most vulnerable Pennsylvanians, our essential workers, and ours. Masks are required for all businesses during the yellow and green phases of resumption. Even in counties that are in the green stage, wearing consistent masks has the benefit of lasting, as COVID-19 surges can occur this fall.

633 patients with positive serologic tests and either COVID-19 symptoms or high-risk exposure are considered presumed and not confirmed. So far, 646,780 patients have tested negative. Of the patients diagnosed positive so far, the breakdown of age is as follows:

Nearly 1% are 0 to 4 years old.
1% are 5-12 years old.
2% are 13-18 years old.
Nearly 7% are 19-24 years old.
Nearly 37% are 25-49 years old.
Nearly 25% are 50-64 years old. And
Nearly 28% are over 65.

In nursing homes and personal care homes, COVID-19 has 17,622 residents and 3,193 employees, with a total of 20,815 at 684 institutions in 51 counties.
