A 4.1-magnitude earthquake was detected in Charente Province (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) in the early hours of this morning (June 30).

The quake was felt 20 kilometers northeast of Angouleme at 03:26, according to France’s central seismological office.

No damage has yet been discovered, but earthquake “witnesses” have been invited to report their experiences here so that research bodies can prepare a study of the accident and improve their understanding of how earthquakes affect different regions of France.
