Manipur was hit Monday morning by a mild earthquake of magnitude 3.5, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

In a tweet on Monday, the network’s control station said: “Magnitude 3.5 earthquake: Happened on 11-07-2022, 10:06:56 India Time, Latitude: 24.80, Length: 94.43, Depth: 10 km, Kamjung, Manipur, India For more information, download the BhooKamp app.

“A lot of people in our area don’t know about it,” said a resident of Ukhrul district, 84 km north of Imphal.

Residents of other neighborhoods were also subjected to earthquakes. Fortunately, there were no reports of any property damage or loss of life in Kamjong and other parts of the state.

On July 26 last year, an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale hit Okrol district in Manipur.

On January 4, 2016, the northeastern state was hit by a strong earthquake of magnitude 6.7, which killed eight people and damaged many properties, including the mother market in Imphal.
