The United Nations has warned that millions of children in Yemen are suffering from hunger strikes – BBC News
There is a strong warning tonight that millions of children in Yemen could be pushed to the “edge of hunger” if international aid is not significantly increased. UNICEF comes from the United Nations Children’s Organization. Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, exacerbating the impact of the coronavirus pandemic during the five years of the civil war. Iran-backed Houthi rebels have been working against the Yemeni government. It is backed by a Saudi-led coalition backed by the US and the UK. In Yemen, 2 million children are malnourished and 1.7 million have been forced to flee their homes. A child dies every 10 minutes from a preventable disease.
