Opera, games among the entertainment of the peninsula
Opera and games are among the entertainment on offer this weekend on the northern Olympic Peninsula.
• Simultaneous broadcast of “Fedora” by the Metropolitan Opera is scheduled for Saturday at the Naval Elks Lodge Ballroom in Port Angeles.
The Live at the Met production presented by the Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts (JFFA) and Ghostlight Productions brings the opera to The Elks at 131 E. First St., New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
Showtime is at 9:55 a.m. for “Fedora,” the story of a Russian princess who falls in love with her fiancé’s murderer.
Tickets are $24 general, $18 for seniors, and $14 for students and children. Guests can order refreshments including coffee and mimosas.

• Teen Game Night will be hosted by the North Olympic Library System at the Sequim Pubic Library from 6-7:30 p.m. today.
Teens in grades 7 through 12 will be treated to pizza, board games and art making at the library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.

• A puzzle contest is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Port Angeles Public Library, part of the North Olympic Library System.
In the contest at the library, at 2210 S. Peabody St., teams of up to four members will have until noon to complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle.
The contest is open to adults, teenagers and children 10 years and older.
Participants can come as a team or meet to form a team during the contest.

• A genealogical conference by Claudia Breeland is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.
Breeland will present “Finding and Using Historical Newspapers” on Zoom. The public can join the Zoom session or watch it at the company’s research center, 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles.
