‘Our island in Ireland is America’s last stop’ – BBC News
A Dublin couple has left city life to live on one of Ireland’s most remote islands. Great Blasket Island is the cost of County Kerry and is the westernmost point in Europe. Many houses have been restored in recent years and tourists are welcome on the island. The announcement of two jobs as a caregiver attracted more than 23,000 applications worldwide. Successful candidates were Eoin Boyle and Annie Birney from Dublin. Ms. Birney said it is still sunk. “We wake up every morning and there’s a massive colony of seals on the beach next to our door. Next to the window and you’re passing a donkey, you don’t know what you’ll see next. The couple will live in island accommodations until October and manage the island’s cafe and private huts.
