Graham Nash: David Crosby’s death was like an earthquake | entertainment

Graham Nash says the death of late colleague David Crosby hit him “like an earthquake”.

Although he had expected David to pass away over the past decade, due to the myriad health issues he had faced over the years, Graham, 81, was shocked to find out he had passed away on January 18, at the age of 81, after a long illness.

He told Uncut magazine: “We’ve been anticipating David’s death for the last 10 years.

I mean, he got a lot wrong with him. Holy Toledo, he had five or six buttresses in his veins. He clearly didn’t take good care of himself. But his death was still like an earthquake. The first shock was just terrifying.”

Fortunately, he and Neil Young, 77, made amends with fellow Crosby stills, Nash & Young before his death.

We did. We were emailing and he called me and left a voicemail about how he felt he needed to apologize for shooting himself in the mouth, especially about Neil and me. We scheduled a FaceTime. Unfortunately, he didn’t call. Never, then he died two days later.”

Graham is releasing his first solo album in seven years, “Now,” on May 19, the “most personal” collection of his career.

In a statement, the English-American musician said: “I think my new album ‘Now’ is my most personal album ever.

“At this point in my life, that’s something to say.”

Graham is currently on the “Sixty Years of Songs & Stories” tour in the US to celebrate the 60th anniversary of his first single with the Hollies.
