NEW ZEALAND EARTHQUAKE: New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands were rocked by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Monday, the National Seismology Center reported on Twitter.

According to the NCS, the earthquake occurred at 6.11 am Indian Standard Time. “Magnitude 7.2 earthquake, occurred on 04-24-2023, 06:11:52 IST, Latitude: -29.95, Long: -178.02, Depth: 10km, Location: Kermadec Islands, New Zealand,” the National Seismology Center tweeted.

There is no tsunami alert

However, the National Emergency Management Agency said there were no tsunami alerts. “There is no risk of a tsunami for New Zealand following the M7.1 Kermadec Islands earthquake.
