An earthquake was detected in central New Hampshire on Tuesday morning, according to the US Geological Survey. The magnitude 2.9 quake was centered in Center Sandwich and shook at 9:49 a.m. rumbling feeling. Robert Kyle, from Moultonborough, said, “Big bang, but we thought maybe it was the device at the transfer station, but everyone looked at each other, but no. It was a mystery.” Sandwich fire officials said they received several calls about complaints, but no news of damage. An earthquake was felt in New York on Sunday in Granite State. According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude 2.9 quake was centered in Center Sandwich and shook at 9:49 AM.

WMUR viewers in Meredith, Moultonboro, Sandwich, Thornton, and other cities reported feeling the shock.
