London-One new coronavirus case in middle sex, says Health Unit-London

 


One showed a positive reaction to the novel Coronavirus, Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) officials said Thursday.

This brings the total number of cases in the region to 671. No recovery or death has been reported and their total remains at 570 and 57 respectively.

It has been about 5 weeks since the last COVID-19-related death reported in the area on June 12.

The new case reported Wednesday involved individuals in London, the health unit said. The person is not a health care worker and is not associated with a senior care facility.

Health officials did not report new cases with one and four recovery each on Wednesday or Tuesday. On Monday, one case and one recovery was reported.

The seven-day average for new cases in the region is 1.28 per day as of Thursday. Looking back over the 14 days leading up to July 2, the average is exactly 1.

According to the latest available data from the Health Unit, the test positive rate in the region is 0.1% as of the week of 5 July. This is down from the 8.2% peak in late March when the test was generally unavailable.

According to the Department of Health, there were 592 confirmed cases in London, 23 in Stratoceradodoc and 12 in the Middlesex Center.

In other regions, North Middlesex and Thames Center reported 6 cases each, while Lucan Biddaluf and Southwest Middlesex reported 1 case each.

According to data from the Health Unit, people in their 20s continue to be the largest age group with 136 (21 percent) confirmed cases. Almost half are due to contact with confirmed cases.

People in their 80s account for 84 cases, or 16%. This is primarily due to the outbreaks reported to have occurred at home in the elderly. Health unit data show that 84% of cases involving people in their 80s are associated with outbreaks.

Nursing homes and nursing homes have at least 21 out of 26 declared cases in London and middlesex during a pandemic. They are associated with at least 180 cases and 37 regional deaths.

According to local hospitals, few people are currently hospitalized for the virus.

According to the London Health Sciences Center, fewer than five patients are hospitalized, and at St. Joseph Healthcare London, COVID-19 patients are not being treated at the facility.

LHSC has not provided accurate tally since June 10. If the number of patients with COVID-19 exceeds 5, LHSC has announced that it will issue a number.

According to Public Health Ontario, at some point in the pandemic, at least 4,554 people (12% of Ontario cases) had to be hospitalized.

In rural areas, Ontario reported 111 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday And the death of 5 people.

The total number of cases was 37,163, which marked 2,737 deaths and 33,061 cases resolved.

Today, the number of cases resolved has increased by 141, outpacing the number of new cases.

The number of people using hospitals, intensive care units and ventilators has all decreased.

The state says more than 26,492 people were tested for the new coronavirus the day before. The positive rate for the Ontario test is 0.8% as of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ontario extended the pandemic emergency order until July 29.

Elgin and Oxford

One recovered, a Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) official reported Thursday.

The total number of cases in the region remained unchanged at 87, of which 80 recovered. Five people have died, and the total has not changed since April.

Health officials reported no changes on Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday, and reported a case on Saturday in Woodstock.

It is one of the two cases remaining in the area. Other cases are on Woodstock.

There are no outbreaks occurring in this area. Three were declared and all resolved. Ten cases were reported.

According to SWPH, as of Wednesday, 13,074 tests have been performed and there are 211 pending results.

The test positive rate in this region remains at 0.7%.

Huron and Perth

No new cases, deaths, or remissions were reported by officials at Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) on Thursday.

The total number of cases in the region has been kept at 59, of which 53 have recovered and 5 have died, with 1 in Perth County operating in the region. The last reported death was in late April.

Health officials reported no change on Wednesday and Tuesday, and reported one recovery on Monday.

According to the Health Unit, in the case of 16 years old the 60s are the largest age group, 12 cases in the 50s and 9 cases in the 30s.

According to the Health Unit figures, no cases have been hospitalized since late April.

Stratford is the most common with 26, followed by Perth County with 15, Huron County with 14 and Saint Marys with 4.

Four deaths have been reported in Stratford, all related to a resolved outbreak on Greenwood Court, and one death on St Mary’s Island.

A total of 9 outbreaks have been declared in relation to 23 cases.

As of Thursday, at least 10,555 people were tested in the area.

Sarnia and Lambton

No new cases, deaths, or remissions were reported late Wednesday by Lambton Public Health (LPH) officials.

The total number of cases in the region remained unchanged at 287, of which 260 recovered. 25 people have died and have not changed since early June.

Health officials reported one new case and one recovery late Tuesday, with no changes in the second half of Monday and Sunday.

According to the health unit, two cases are still active in the area.

Bluewater Health Hospital reported Thursday that COVID-19 patients were untreated. Fifteen patients were hospitalized and pending testing.

The hospital has not seen confirmed patients on treatment since 14 June. Shortly afterwards, the dedicated COVID-19 unit was closed.

At least 19 staff at the hospital had a positive response during the pandemic.

Fifty-seven are hospitalized in Lambton with COVID-19. Most hospitalizations were in March and April.

According to the Health Unit, 14,546 test results were obtained, with 2% of the tests being positive.
