UK mobile providers have banned the purchase of new Huawei 5G equipment from 31 December, and the Chinese company will also have to remove all 5G kits from the networks by 2027. Digital Secretary Oliver Dowden announced the decision to the General Committee. He follows the sanctions imposed by Washington, saying the company poses a threat to national security – something Huawei denies.
