QAnon, coronaviruses and conspiracy cult – BBC News
A strange conspiracy theory has gained a lot of popularity in the US since the pandemic, according to an exclusive study seen by the BBC. QAnon and his believers say Donald Trump is about to save the world from the evil cabal of pedophiles and has had an astonishing worldwide interest from Brazil to Germany, the United Kingdom and Indonesia. This week Twitter announced that it would delete 7,000 QAnon-related accounts, saying the action would help prevent “external damage”. BBC resident Stehanie Hegarty has spoken to QAnon fans and their families about why this cult conspiracy has won. Created by Emma Ailes. Published by Emma Ailes and Robert Coxwell.
