The Governor of Riau Isdianto Islands is Positive Covid-19, the day after President Joko Widodo’s appointment.
RIAU, KOMPAS.TV – Governor of Riau Isdianto Islands, confirmed positive for Covid-19. In addition to Governor Isdianto, a number of staff in the Riau Islands Province Government’s Public Relations and Protocol Office have also tested positive for Co-19.

After positive confirmation of Covid-19, Governor Isdianto is currently in independent isolation.
Governor Isdianto confirmed positive for Covid-19, based on the results of the swab test carried out on July 28, 2020.
Earlier on Monday, July 27, 2020, Isdianto was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace as Governor of the Riau Islands.
Isdianto was appointed on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 71 / P Year 2020 on the confirmation of the dismissal with the respect of the deputy governor of the remaining department of the Riau Islands of the year 2016-2021 and the confirmation of the appointment of the governor of the remaining Riau Islands department for the year 2016-2021.
Isdianto was previously Acting Governor of the Riau Islands, replacing Nurdin Basirun who was a KPK prisoner.
