Massive fire on 4th floor of Pakistan Stock Exchange, all traders rescued – World News
A massive fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi on Monday. According to multiple reports, trading was briefly suspended while rescue workers evacuated everyone from the building. As many as six fire engines were rushed to the scene. A report by Dawn.com said that firefighters managed to douse the blaze.
According to Dawn report, Sindh Rescue 1122 spokesperson Hassaan Khan confirmed that there were no casualties in the fire and the cooling process was underway. The fire, which was initially reported on the fourth floor of the Pakistan Stock Exchange building, spread to other parts of the building. However, the quick response of the fire brigade of the building located on II Chundrigar Road averted a major disaster.
The report also added that earlier in February, a survey conducted by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had revealed that as many as 265 commercial establishments had not put in place any fire safety measures and none had obtained the NOC from the municipal body. The findings were presented to the Sindh High Court.
