Gandapur threatens to launch nationwide hunger strike for Imran Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced that if Imran Khan goes on hunger strike, similar protests will break out across Pakistan and around the world.

Responding to the concerns of the PTI founder, he said, “His reservations are well-founded. If he goes on hunger strike, the protest will spread across Pakistan and the world. We adhere to and respect the law and we can take part in peaceful protests to demand our rights.”

Speaking to the media after appearing before the anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Monday, he mentioned discussions with a US delegation regarding the issue of encryption.

Gandapur also pointed out that for the first time under his leadership, the KP government did not take any loan and instead presented a surplus budget of Rs 100 billion.

He also said that the health card system is being reintroduced in the province in line with the PTI founder's vision of making KP self-reliant. “In just 100 days, we have undertaken many public service initiatives,” he added.

The chief minister also said that by 2028, KP will generate 800 megawatts of electricity and employ 100,000 youth. He, however, pointed out that demands for appointment of civil servants in the province have not been met.
