AUGUSTA, GA – U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today announced a historic federal investment to strengthen energy security and promote economic development in Augusta and throughout the CSRA.

Today, Senator Ossoff announced that approximately $45 million in federal funding will be made available to Augusta, CSRA and South Carolina to help create jobs, strengthen national security and generate innovative technology as part of the bipartisan CHIPS Act Tech Hub program.

Last October, Senator Ossoff announced that Augusta-Richmond County and the South Carolina region had been designated a Regional Technology Hub through the CHIPS Act program, paving the way for this federal grant funding.

The federal funding will support the SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy (SC Nexus) technology hub coalition, which includes Augusta University, the U.S. Army Cyber ​​Center of Excellence, U.S. Army Cyber ​​Command at Fort Eisenhower, and other economic development organizations, higher education institutions and industry partners in Georgia and South Carolina.
