Review of the Grace Karin Halter Neck Maxi Dress

Summer is my time to shine, a season that allows me to dive head first into my love of maxi dresses, a love that lasts longer than 200 dresses deep. Why I love this long dress

It's surprisingly comfortable

To be honest, I was skeptical when I realized this dress was made of a heavier, jersey-like fabric. I usually prefer something lighter and more breathable to move around in without the dress clinging to my figure in warm weather. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this dress didn't feel bulky or cumbersome.

I opted for a blue and beige print reminiscent of the intricate patterns of traditional Italian ceramics, evoking the charm of a Mediterranean getaway. The fabric is stretchy, has a flattering fit, and is thick enough to not be see-through but not cause overheating. It’s also buttery soft, allowing it to glide over the skin. And to delight women everywhere, it has pockets!

The bodice is lined and provides good support. I didn't need to wear a bra if I didn't want to. There's even a special lining on the upper bust that keeps the dress from slipping down. Plus, the crisscross design isn't restrictive and doesn't pull on your neck like traditional halter neck styles.

Several reviews advised sizing down, so since I'm usually between a M and a S, I opted for the latter, which turned out to be a glove. (For reference, I'm 5'2″ and have a 34B cup.

I put this maxi dress to the ultimate test when I took it on my last trip. Since I travel a lot, I've gotten into the habit of only using a carry-on bag whenever possible, which meant I had to fold the dress into a compression cube with other clothes. Somehow, it remained wrinkle-free by the time I took it out to sightsee! It was a lifesaver for someone like me who tries to avoid ironing as much as possible.

I don't like to feel restricted, so its A-line silhouette was a perfect fit for my vacation lifestyle. I spent my day walking around a resort in 80+ degree temperatures with relative ease. With every step, the fabric swayed and danced around my ankles, creating a feeling of lightness and freedom of spirit.
