Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati to offer a "gift" in the form of incentives to medical staff working with Covid-19 patients. All the while, medical staff, such as doctors, nurses and other support teams, have been at the forefront in treating corona positive patients.
This was confirmed by Jokowi during a limited meeting on the subject of the Covid-19 Task Force discussion report via videoconference at the Merdeka Palace, Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta.
"I ask the Minister of Finance, this is an incentive for doctors, nurses and hospital staff involved in the management of Covid-19," said Jokowi Thursday (3/19/2020).
However, Jokowi did not specify what incentives would be given to the ranks of the medical team. However, Jokowi wants maximum protection for medical personnel.
"I want maximum protection for the doctors, medical staff and hospital staff who care for patients infected with Covid-19," he said.
"Make sure PPE is provided (personal protective equipment) because it is at the forefront so that health workers should be protected and not exposed to Covid-19," said Jokowi.
Jokowi then asked for all medical devices such as masks, hand sanitizer its use can be maximized in the country. Jokowi has requested that no other medical devices be exported to a number of countries.
"We export the masks and medical devices necessary for this, it is better to stop first. First make sure that the national stock is sufficient. Then the availability of raw materials for the production of medical devices to deal with this situation, "he said.
