Star Rail to replace Moze's voice actor
HoYoverse announcement that he will be replacing the voice actor for the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail character Moze, Chris Niosi, as well as all of his lines so far in a future version of the title. This means that Niosi's lines will make their way into the game in the next update and will remain there until his replacement has been found and delivered his lines. “Giving voice to this character, even briefly, has been an incredible honor,” he continued. “But after spending the last week reading the community’s comments, I cannot, in good faith, continue to play a role that would cause undue pain to so many people, especially those I have hurt in the past.”
Niosi said he understood that he still had work to do before the public felt comfortable with me stepping into a role of this magnitude. He also asked people to show kindness to those who believed in me or simply interacted with me in the past, most likely referring to Sunday VA Griffin Puatu.
Puatu publicly defended Niosi and did so in a way that left him open to attack, leading fans to call for his replacement as well. Puatu has lost a total of three roles due to his conduct over the past week with Lost in Limbo, Sigh of the AbyssAnd REEDS It could be said that his actions caused a certain Streisand effect, further inflaming the situation.
