Orange County reports 565 new cases and 6 new deaths as of August 9 – Orange County Registration
The Orange County Healthcare Agency reported 565 new cases of coronavirus as of Sunday, August 9, with a cumulative county count of 39,641 cases.
Authorities pointed out that the California Reportable Diseases Exchange had a problem with the application receiving test reports from the lab and sending them to CalREDIE. The state health department is trying to solve this problem. As a result, the number of COVID-19 positive cases received daily has been reduced, and the test may have been recently reported. On Monday, authorities reported more than 17,000 untreated tests.
It is estimated that more than half of the reported cases, or 29,931 as of Sunday, were recovered. Recovery times are based on cumulative cases over the last 28 days.
Six new deaths were reported in Orange County on Sunday and the death toll increased to 726.
Of the 726 deaths, 284 were skilled nursing home residents, 38 were living in nursing homes, and one was listed as homeless.

According to the county’s report, the virus has been tested for 474,144 cases since local tracking began in March. As of Sunday, at least 14,665 tests have been performed.
The county reported on Sunday that 487 people with a coronavirus were hospitalized and 163 received intensive care.
The State Coronavirus Tracking Dashboard shows that Orange County had at least 43% of its ICU beds available on Sunday.
