The Clarkson Golden Knights showed a glimpse of what's to come this season with a balanced scoring attack from multiple positions and class years. In a 9-0 win over Saint Michael's in Burlington, VT, 9 different Knights scored and a total of 13 skaters got on the scoresheet.

Haley Winn opened the scoring just 2:42 into the game, then Nicole Gosling fed her from the opposite point, Baylee Kirwan would get the second assist. The Knights would continue to take shots at St. Mike's goalkeeper, Annika Lavender, but she was able to withstand the early barrage until Jenn Goodwin made it 2-0 at 12:29. Sidney Fess would get her first points as a Golden Knight with an assist. Fess would extend the lead on the Power Play, with her first goal as a Golden Knight at 17:28. Colleague transfer, Madison Chantler and freshmen, Raedyn Spademan would get their first points in the Green & Gold on goal.

After 20 minutes, shots recorded stood at 31-1 and shot attempts stood at 56 for the Knights.

Clarkson would continue to own the offensive time of possession and shot advantage in the second period. Keira Hurry would give the Knights a 4-0 lead, followed by Shelby Laidlaw to make it 5-0. In a goal that was the direct result of the pressure the Knights applied team after team, Rhea Hicks scored on what became a 5-2 rush, when the Purple Knights, so desperate for the long change, were caught on the rush back and Hicks converted from Winn and Gosling.
In a record night for the St. Mikes Goalie and the Clarkson offense, Lavender saw her 65th save in the third period, surpassing her career high. The 89 shots on net for the Knights also set a record for most shots on net in a match, beating 70 shots on goal against Colby in the early days of the program (courtesy of T. Szarka's research) . Lavender would be relieved of duty Midway through the third period, Kenna Dans would see her first collegiate action, allowing 2 goals on 11 shots. Spiderman, Gosling and Andie Proulx would round out the scoring for the Knights.
Julia Minotti would make six saves for her first win and be shut out of the season. Clarkson was 1-of-3 on the power play and took no penalties.

The two teams are back at Cairns Arena in Burlington tomorrow for a 3pm start.
