Jokowi builds magnificent “forts” on 7 Indonesian borders
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated seven integrated cross-border posts (PLBN). The inauguration took place at PLBN Napan, North Central Timor Regency (TTU), Wednesday (02/10/2024).
“Today, we will inaugurate 7 integrated cross-border posts spread across East Nusa Tenggara, Riau Islands, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and South Papua, with a total cost of Rp1.3 trillion,” Jokowi said.
In detail, the PLBN Natan in NTT was built with a budget of IDR 128 billion, while the PLBN Serasan in the Riau Islands cost IDR 145 billion, the PLBN Jagowibabang in West Kalimantan IDR 224 billion, the PLBN Sei Nyamuk in North Kalimantan IDR 248 billion. billion, the Labang PLBN in North Kalimantan IDR 210 billion, the Nawang PLBN IDR 243 billion and the Yetekun PLBN in South Papua IDR 127 billion.

Jokowi said this integrated PLBN could improve services for Indonesians who want to cross the border. Apart from this, it also strengthens security in border areas and encourages the growth of new economic centers.

Jokowi said that between 2015 and 2024 he had built 15 PLBNs. The details are 7 PLBNs built between 2015 and 2019 and 8 PLBNs built between 2020 and 2024.
