Turkey condemns Israel's decision at the UN, pledges support to Lebanon
ANKARA
Trkiye strongly condemned Israel's recent actions following a meeting of the National Security Council (MGK) chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoan at the presidential complex.
The meeting's statement criticized Israel's decision to bar United Nations Secretary-General Antnio Guterres from entering the country, calling it the latest example of Israel's disregard for the law.
Trkiye also pledged to stand with Lebanon as Israeli military actions continue to intensify in the region. “In the face of Israel's inhumane attacks, it was confirmed that Trkiye will stand alongside the brotherly Lebanese people and government, with its nation and its state,” the statement said.
Additionally, the statement urges international actors to intervene and prevent further Israeli aggression, which risks spreading conflict across the Middle East.
Trkiye reaffirmed his commitment to combating terrorist organizations in Syria, saying military operations against these groups will continue “without interruption.” The MGK stressed the importance of maintaining security along its borders amid persistent regional instability.
