Palace responds to Habib Rizieq et al. lawsuit From 5,246 T IDR against Jokowi

Habib Rizieq Shihab together with a number of residents, he filed a civil suit against President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The Palace also responded to the lawsuit.
Judging from the SIPP website of the Central Jakarta District Court, Friday (04/10/2024), the lawsuit is registered under file number 661/Pdt.G/2024/PN Jkt.Pst.
The plaintiffs in this case are Moh Rizieq, Munarman, Eko Santjojo, Edy Mulyadi, Mursalim, Marwan Batubara and Soenarko. Meanwhile, the accused is Joko Widodo.

1. Accept and grant the plaintiffs' request in its entirety
2. Declare that the defendant (Joko Widodo) committed an illegal act
3. Order the accused (Joko Widodo) to pay material compensation in the amount of IDR 5,246.75 trillion to be deposited in the public treasury.

Response from the palace
The President’s Special Staff on Legal Affairs, Dini Purwono, said filing a complaint in court is the right of every citizen. However, he recalled that prosecutions must be initiated seriously and responsibly.
“Of course, every citizen has the right to present legal appeals, but it is better that each legal appeal is carried out seriously and responsibly. That everyone who postulates something is obliged to prove it, this legal principle must always be put forward. Legal remedies provided for in the Constitution should not be used “arbitrarily, just for sensational or provocative purposes,” Dini said.
He said Jokowi's ten years of administration were not without advantages and disadvantages. He left the final judgment to the public.
Dini was reluctant to provide further comment regarding the lawsuit. He said the Palace would still wait for the court proceedings.
“The Palace cannot provide any further response because the lawsuit has been filed with the district court. Maybe we will see later how this develops so that it is clearer if this lawsuit is aimed at Pak Jokowi as president or as an individual,” he said. .
