NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a pointed criticism of the Congress party during his visit to Maharashtra. Washim districtaccusing the grand old party of favoring a politics that divides and being run by a “gang of urban naxals“.
Addressing a public gathering, the Prime Minister claimed that the Congress was intentionally pitting communities against each other to promote its agenda of dividing the country.
He asked people to unite against the “dangerous agenda” of the grand old party. “They (Congress) think that if we all come together, then their agenda to divide the country will fail,” the prime minister said.
Prime Minister Modi also linked the party to an important drug seizure in Delhi, saying, “Drugs worth lakhs have been recovered. The main accused in this drug trade is a Congress leader. Congress wants to push young people into drugs and use that money to run and win elections. »

The Prime Minister commented that the mindset of the Congress was alien from the very beginning. “Just like the British regime, the Congress family also does not consider Dalits, backward communities and tribals as their equals,” he said.
In his speech, he commended the Banjara community for their major contributions to nation-building, while highlighting his government's continued efforts to support marginalized communities and strengthen rural development.

The Prime Minister's remarks come as he launches several major initiatives in Washim, including projects related to agriculture and livestock sectors, worth around Rs 23,300 crore. Of these, he inaugurated 9,200 Agricultural producer organizations (FPO) with a collective turnover of around Rs 1,300 crore, aimed at improving the livelihood of farmers.
