BEA's Carol Schrader comes to the net to hit a winner during her and Erin Prescher's No. 1 doubles match against River Valley on September 30.

The No. 2 seed Maple River Eagles defeated the Blue Earth Area Bucs 5-2 in the semifinals of the Class A, Section 2 Tennis Tournament on Oct. 3. The competition took place on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. .

The Bucs' only two wins came in doubles.

BEA's Grace Schavey and Brooklyn Rosenau won their No. 2 doubles match against Norah Davis and Reagan Reuter 6-4, 7-6 (6).

At No. 3 doubles, McKinley Hanson and Katelyn Storbeck prevailed over Kennedi Oliver and Merrit Ward 6-4, 6-3.

The rest of the games were won by Maple River.

Kelsey Jaeger and Claire Langworthy defeated Carol Schrader and Erin Prescher at No. 1 doubles 6-2, 6-1.

At No. 1 singles, Macy Sohre of the Eagles defeated Grace Hanson 6-0, 6-3.

Ally Mersman won the No. 2 singles match over Addison Prescher of the Bucs, 6-2, 6-0.

The No. 3 singles match was won by Tabitha Barkosky of Maple River. She defeated Abdij Lorenz 6-2, 6-1.

Madison Ward earned the victory for the Eagles in the No. 4 singles match as she triumphed over Abigail Greff 6-1, 6-1.

The St. James Saints and Maple River faced off for the Section Championship, played on the afternoon of October 4.

BEA doesn't have any seniors on their roster, so they should field a very experienced team in 2025.

The Section 2 individual tournament began on Friday morning, October 4, at Gustavus Adolphus College.

BEA 5, River Valley 2

The No. 3 seed Blue Earth Area Buccaneers girls tennis team hosted the No. 6 seed River Valley Wildcats in the opening round of the Class A Section 2 playoffs on Sept. 30.

BEA defeated River Valley 5-2 to advance to the semifinals against Maple River. That competition was held on Thursday, October 3 on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Against River Valley, BEA won all three doubles matches and two of four singles matches to secure the victory.

BEA's No. 4 singles player, Abigail Greff, earned the first win of the match for the Maroon and Gold without losing a match. She defeated Tori Matter 6-0, 6-0.

The No. 2 doubles team of Grace Schavey and Brooklyn Rosenau gave the Bucs a 2-0 lead as they triumphed 6-0, 6-0 over Bronwyn Sorenson and Alisyn Danielson.

The score became 3-0 in BEA's favor when McKinley Hanson and Katelyn Storbeck took the victory in the No. 3 doubles match by defeating Morgan Arnsdorf and Delaney Rex 6-1, 6-0.

BEA's No. 1 doubles team of Carol Schrader and Erin Prescher picked up the fourth win for the Bucs by defeating Chloe Okerman and Dani Junker 6-2, 6-0.

The Bucs' fifth victory came in the No. 3 singles match, where Abbey Lorenz defeated Jillian Mays 6-1, 6-2.

River Valley's two wins came at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

The No. 1 singles match went to a tiebreak in the third set before River Valley's Taylor Birkner prevailed over BEA's Grace Hanson 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

Brissa Hernandez claimed the Wildcats' other win in the No. 2 singles match by defeating Addison Prescher 6-4, 6-4.

BEA 7, Worthington 0

The Bucs concluded their regular season on September 26 with a 7-0 shutout victory over the Worthington Trojans at Schroeder Courts in Blue Earth.

Grace Hanson won at No. 1 singles against Chloe Martinez 6-0, 6-1.

Addison Prescher won the No. 2 singles match against Sadie Nickel 6-0, 6-0.

Abbey Lorenz lost just one match, defeating Lily Brown in the No. 3 singles match, 6-1, 6-0.

Abigail Greff completed the sweep of the Bucs in the singles matches by defeating Madison Poe 6-1, 6-3.

Carol Schrader and Erin Prescher defeated Kah Blu Moo and Makayla Phouangphet in the #1 singles match. However, the score was not reported.

In the No. 2 singles match, it was Grace Schavey and Brooklyn Rosenau who defeated Ashley Esparza and Tiana Garcia 6-1, 6-1.

McKinley Hanson and Katelyn Storbeck won the No. 3 singles match against Angie Dailey and Cassie Schultz 6-2, 6-1.
