Imran Khan's sisters Aleema and Uzma Khan sent to remand

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad duty magistrate has approved one-day remand for Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, ARY News reported.

According to details, the two sisters were produced before the court of duty magistrate Azhar Nadeem today in a case registered at Kohsar police station.

The police had requested a 20-day remand for the accused, but the court only approved a one-day remand.

Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Asad Qaiser's brother Adnan, who was also given a day's remand, will be produced before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) tomorrow.

In addition, nine other women were sent to prison on remand.

Yesterday, Islamabad police arrested several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, including the sisters of party founder Imran Khan, who were trying to reach D-Chowk for a planned protest.

Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, Imran Khan's sisters, were arrested by the police when they arrived at D-Chowk to join party workers in the planned protest.

Imran Khan's two sisters were shifted to the secretariat police station.

The capital police also arrested dozens of PTI supporters and transferred them to the police station. PTI workers and police came face to face as police used tear gas to disperse the protesters who in return pelted stones.
