President Jokowi Attends Peak Evening of 79th Mining and Energy Anniversary
President Joko Widodo attended the 79th Mining and Energy Anniversary Peak Party held at the Grand Ballroom of the Indonesia Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta on Thursday, October 10, 2024. This event was the seventh since its first holding in 2017.
“I wish you a happy birthday, happy 79th anniversary of Mines and Energy, especially to the extended family of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the ESDM sector,” the President said.
In his speech, the Head of State appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources which succeeded in encouraging the construction of more than 108 smelters in Indonesia. This is seen as the result of constant hard work aimed at forcing large companies to build processing industries in the country.
“I appreciate, I really appreciate the hard efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and at all levels so that as of today we have over 108 smelters. And this is the fruit of your hard work , ladies and gentlemen, consistent, courageous enough to say that the foundry should not be built here, it must be built “Here is the industry and its derivatives”, declared the president.
During the event themed “Energy and Minerals Make Indonesia Advanced and Sustainable”, President Jokowi also attended the presentation of the Subroto Prize to 68 recipients. The Subroto Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to stakeholders who have played a role in the advancement of the energy and mineral resources sector over the past year.
Apart from this, President Jokowi also thanked 5 representatives of the ESDM sector among the 5,291 employees of the ESDM Ministry located throughout the country. This appreciation was given as a symbol of dedication for the hard work of the staff of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Also present at the event was Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, as well as former Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Energy and Mineral Resources. (BPMI Setpres)
