Adiala Prison Administrator Says Imran Khan Gets All Class B Complete Facilities

Adiala Prison authorities have clarified that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have made baseless allegations on the jail administration regarding the treatment of Imran Khan, claiming that the former prime minister was benefiting of all the amenities due to him under the rules of class B prisons. , reported the television channel 24NewsHD.

In an official statement issued on Saturday, the prison authorities said: “Imran Khan has been provided with all facilities, including uninterrupted electricity, good meals and opportunity to exercise regularly.” They added that a professional cook prepares their meals, which include a variety of dishes according to their preferences.

Prison officials said Imran Khan's breakfast consisted of coffee, chia seeds, beetroot juice, yogurt, chapati, biscuits and dates. For lunch, he is served traditional curry, chicken, yogurt, chapati, salad, green tea and mutton. Dinner includes porridge, coconut, coconut juice and grapes, all prepared under the supervision of an assistant superintendent.

“His food is prepared as per his choice and under strict supervision,” the statement said, rejecting claims made at a press conference earlier in the day by PTI leaders, including lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, regarding the poor conditions of Khan's incarceration.

Regarding his health, prison authorities said that Imran Khan was examined three times a day by an in-house doctor and recent medical tests confirm that he is in good health. Two days ago, doctors at PIMS Hospital also conducted an examination and confirmed his health condition.

Khan, the PTI founder, who has been incarcerated since last year, also receives daily newspapers and exercises for two hours every day, the officials said. They refuted claims of isolation, stressing that safety arrangements in Class B are comprehensive.
