Oregon is No. 1, Texas is falling in the college football rankings
As you might expect given the weekend results in college football, there is a new No. 1 team at the top the American LBM Coaches Poll. As you would expect, that team is last week's No. 2 seed.
Oregon rises to first place for the first time since November 11, 2012. The Ducks were voted first on 51 of the 53 ballots for coaches submitted this week after their Friday night whitewash of Purdue. It wasn't unanimous, however, as Georgia claimed the remaining first-place nods and bounces to return to No. 2 after beating previous No. 1 Texas on the road. The Longhorns fell five places to No. 6 with the loss.
Penn State, still undefeated but having a week off, remains at No. 3. No. 4 Ohio State, which was also on an open date, remains at No. 4. There was a little more drama at No. 5. , where Miami is five poll points ahead of Texas. LSU moves up a notch to No. 7, followed by Tennessee, Clemson and Iowa State. The Volunteers moved up two spots after their loss to Alabama.

Notre Dame remains at No. 11, with Brigham Young moving up to No. 12. Indiana makes the big move of the week, jumping five spots to No. 13 after a decisive win against then-No. 13. 25 Nebraska. Texas A&M is number 14, followed by Alabama.
Navy joins the poll at No. 24, the first time since the last poll of the 2019 season. It's also the first time the Midshipmen and rival Academy Army, who check in at No. 23, are in the top 25 are in the same week since USA TODAY began administering the coaches survey.
Number 25 Vanderbilt also enters the rankings this week, the first time since the last poll of the 2013 season. Nebraska falls along with Michigan.
