Women's tennis has multiple victories at ITA Regionals and reaches two semifinals
SAN DIEGO San Diego Women's Tennis fared well, falling just short of all NCAA Individual Championships bids at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in their hometown, but notching several wins.
Senior Kailey Evans reached the semifinals for both singles and doubles, with fellow senior Claudia De las Heras. Twice one win away from NCAA singles qualifying, Evans fell to third place on Monday and Tuesday.
Freshman Hanna Lees went 3-1 in singles the entire tournament, including an upset in the consolation round. Sophomore Kristina Nordikyan also went 2-1 in singles.
The Toreros will get another chance to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships Nov. 18-23, but first they stay home for the Torero Tennis Classic, which takes place at the Hogan Tennis Center from Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday the third.
