Lausimeme Dam in North Sumatra inaugurated by Jokowi

SUMUT, NEWSURBAN.ID – Bumi Karsa continues to contribute to the development of national strategic projects. This time, the construction company owned by KALLA successfully completed the work of the Lausimeme Dam Project, located in Biru-biru District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

This dam was officially opened last week by the President of the Republic of Indonesia 2014-2024, Joko Widodo. Bumi Karsa herself contributed from the dam entrance works to the main works of the dam, namely the main cofferdam and the main dam. The duration of the work will extend from 2018 to 2024.

The various advantages of the Lausimeme Dam are that it can reduce flooding in the Medan city area and its surroundings by 289 cubic meters per second through an early release valve system. Then, the presence of this dam also makes it possible to provide 1 Megawatt of electrical energy.

“The next advantage of the dam is that it provides raw water to Medan city at the rate of 2,850 liters per second, it can also become a lake tourist destination and irrigate the rice fields around the reservoir,” Fajar added .

The dam, with a pool area of ​​125 hectares, has a capacity of 21 million cubic meters. The presence of the Lausimeme Dam is part of the government's efforts to build water infrastructure in various regions of Indonesia.
