International student table tennis tournament concluded successfully
On October 23, the table tennis hall at the Putuo Campus was filled with excitement as more than 40 international students from more than 20 countries gathered for the International Students Table Tennis Tournament, a key event of the 18th International Cultural Festival.
Players fought with all their strength and determination on the field and earned applause for their precise shots and clever defenses. After fierce competition, champions emerged in each category.
In the men's singles, South Korea's Lee Seong topped the podium, while Russia's Anastasiia Zakharenkova won the women's singles.
The doubles matches were equally exciting and showcased seamless teamwork and friendship between pairs of different nationalities. Vladimir Krotov of Russia and Merdan Soyunov of Turkmenistan won the men's doubles, while Jayde Chun Lan Wong Fung Cheong of Mauritius and Louis Francis Joel Sylvain Clement of France claimed the mixed doubles crown.
This event promoted friendships and cultural exchanges between students from different backgrounds, and GEC plans to organize more similar activities in the future to promote cultural diversity and global understanding.
