'Mann Ki Baat': PM Modi warns against digital arrest scams; request to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, Birsa Munda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (October 27, 2024) spoke about digital arrest cybercrime, noting that it has affected all sections of society and urging people to adopt the mantra “stop, think and act in the face of such scam.”

In his show Mann ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi said investigating agencies were working with states to tackle this problem but added that awareness is essential to protect against this crime.

The Prime Minister released a representative video to show how these criminals pose as officials of investigative agencies to exploit people's fear after collecting detailed information about their potential victims.

He said: Beware of digital arrest fraud. No investigation agency will ever contact you by telephone or video call for such an investigation. Mr. Modi asked people to dial 1930 to connect to the national helpline or its portal and also inform the police about such a crime.

They should record such conversations and also take screenshots, he said while referring to the crime that has been frequently reported.

Mr. Modi also announced that his government would celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of the country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and freedom fighter Birsa Munda, and urged his countrymen to participate in the campaign .

Mr. Modi, speaking on the 115th episode of his monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat, said: The government has decided to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of these great personalities at the national level. I urge you all to be part of this campaign.

PM Modi further said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Birsa Munda were great men who had different challenges but their vision was the same.

The country has decided to celebrate its 150th birth anniversary. Sardar Patel's 150th birthday year will begin on October 31. After this, the 150th birth anniversary year of Bhagwan Birsa Munda will begin on November 15. These two great men had different challenges but their vision was the same, unity of the country, PM Modi said. .

He further recalled his visit to Ulihatu village in Jharkhand, the birthplace of Birsa Munda, on the occasion of his birth anniversary last year.

If you ask me what were the most memorable moments of my life, I remember many incidents, but there is one moment which is very special. This moment happened when, on November 15 last year, I had visited Ulihatu village in Jharkhand, the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, he added.

In his broadcast, the Prime Minister also praised the growing impact of Indian talents in the world of animation.

He said a wave of creative energy is sweeping across India. Made in India and Made by India are shining brightly in the world of animation, he added.

The Prime Minister said Indian animation characters like Chhota Bheem, Krishna and Motu Patlu have become very popular. Indian content and creativity are appreciated across the world, he added.

India is set to create a revolution in the field of animation, and Indian games are also becoming popular, Modi said.

Efforts towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat are also progressing across all sectors, he said, noting that the country now exports its defense products to over 85 countries.
