PPP is open if Jokowi wants to join

Acting Chairman (Acting) of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono said that his party is willing to accept the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, who was dismissed from the PDI Perjuangan . “The PPP is a party of cadres, it is also an open party, (so) it does not exclude anyone from joining the PPP,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday evening (11/12).

According to Mardiono, all conditions and mechanisms for becoming a PPP executive are regulated in the party statutes (AD/ART). However, his party is not closed if national figures wish to join the PPP, including Jokowi.

“So the PPP does not prohibit anyone from the Indonesian people, nor Indonesian national figures, from joining the PPP,” Mardiono explained.

“But of course, this must go through the basic budgetary mechanism of the statutes belonging to the United Party for Development,” he concluded.
