Well, I thought it would stay at number 1 a little longer, but turns out I was wrong. It Ends With Us fell to number 2 on Netflix's Top 10 Movies list after just a few days. Now, a Netflix original action thriller has taken its place, Carry-On.

Carry-On has a really good cast that includes Taron Egerton from Kingsman and Jason Bateman from Arrested Developments (I know he's done a lot but he'll always be Michael Bluth to me, even if it's not a comedy). It also features former Disney star Sofia Carson and is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra who has directed some interesting films, but a few I liked like The Shallows (ironically starring Blake Lively, star of the film his new film which has just been released). Also in its catalog are Orphan, House of Wax, Jungle Cruise and Black Adam. It's certainly a wide range.

Thriller about TSA agents! But even though it seems a little ridiculous, the film is pretty well reviewed, with a critical score of 86%, very solid for a Netflix original film. And it debuted straight to number one, indicating a level of audience interest.

Interestingly, the closer we get to Christmas, the fewer Christmas movies appear at the top of the list here, and I swear there were more of them in November than there are now. However, Netflix doesn't have the best selection of Christmas movies, and most of its catalog are one-off Hallmark-style productions about small-town women meeting attractive men. But hey, it's a popular genre for a reason. He also booked Lindsay Lohan to star in a few of them, and those have always done well, including this year's entry, Our Little Secret, which was actually #1 a year ago week or two.

As for Carry-On, writing this article convinced me to watch it tonight with the family, because it looks like it could be a solid thriller, based on these reviews and casting. Hopefully these scores turn out to be accurate and it's a good use of two hours. I'll let you know how it goes once I finish it.
