ABBOTTABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to stop pleading for peace and warned the ruling government the next time party workers would take to the streets with guns. .
Addressing a function in Abbottabad, Gandapur, who has a history of disappearing during party marches in the federal capital, said: Imran Khan! for the love of God, stop advocating peace. Next time we won't talk about peace. When we come out with weapons, we will show who is running away.
Next time, we will take to the streets without the slogan of peace, he warned, castigating the PML-N-led coalition government, saying it was fighting against fascism. Fascism has trampled the Constitution, law, morality and humanity of Pakistan.
The chief minister criticized Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and others in connection with their statements on the clashes in Islamabad.
Hailing the sacrifices of the victims of the November 26 D-Chowk violence, Gandapur deplored the actions of law enforcement agencies against the PTI protesters. We are faced with a tyranny that has flouted the Constitution and strangled democracy. We honor those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of truth, he said at a rally in Havelian. He criticized the government for trying to suppress democracy and vowed to fight for their constitutional rights.
Gandapur said the sacrifices of those who were martyred at D-Chowk on November 26 would not go in vain. He said he saluted the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy and paid tribute to the people for supporting the PTI founder against tyranny. He vowed that the PTI would emerge victorious in its struggle.
Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated a Rs 4.64 billion water supply project and announced several development projects during his visit to Havelian. He announced several initiatives for Havelian, including upgrading of 10 primary schools and a hospital, construction of a bypass road, establishment of 10 tube wells, 200 pressure pumps and five health units basic. He also announced sports fields, parks, community centers, road infrastructure projects, allocation of funds for a university building and land for a cemetery.
The water supply project being built with Korean assistance is expected to be completed in two years and will provide 250,000 gallons of water per day to the urban and rural areas of Havelian, benefiting around 94,000 residents.
During the visit, CM Gandapur also announced major improvements to Saji Kot Waterfall Road and Sherwan Road, among other infrastructure projects.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said that none of the PTI protests have ever been peaceful as they want unrest in the country.
Reacting to an aggressive statement issued by CM Gandapur, the minister charged that he has always sacrificed state interests for political interests. It is the PTI's habit to protest with armed groups alongside illegal Afghan citizens. They always wanted to harm the state and the people, he maintained, pointing out that the Anarchic Movement (Tehreek-e-Insaf) had also attacked the federation last time with armed groups equipped with modern weapons, stun guns, tear gas shells and grenades.
The Anarchy Movement armed groups, he claimed, opened fire without provocation and the Gandapur guards were seen firing. They want to play politics by dropping bodies.
May 9 and November 26 are the darkest days in the country's history. Many people were killed in a stampede during a rally of the PTI founder president in Multan, but he continued his speech, he recalled. He said that they (PTI) never cared about people's lives and property. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he pointed out, have already rejected their appeal and they will also reject the next appeal of the Anarchy Movement.
