Thomas unveils the women's tennis spring program
HARRISONBURG, Va. James Madison Head Coach Tyson Thomas has announced the women's tennis schedule for the 2025 spring dual season, featuring a tough 21-match slate highlighted by six battles against Atlantic Coast Conference teams.
The Dukes begin the spring with a gauntlet of 10 games away from home, seven of which are against power-four conference opponents.
JMU will host six games at Hillside Courts, all during Sun Belt Conference play.
Spring kicks off the second week of January, when the Dukes head to Tobacco Road for games against ACC foes Duke (Jan. 11) and North Carolina (Jan. 12). The following weekend, JMU makes a quick trip over the mountain to Charlottesville to take on Virginia (Jan. 18).
The Dukes then head north for a battle at Syracuse (Jan. 25) before opening in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech the following month (Feb. 2). JMU has a pair of games scheduled in Winston-Salem, N.C., where it will take on host Wake Forest (Feb. 8) before a neutral-site matchup with Furman (Feb. 9).
Valentine's Day weekend will be spent in Lynchburg for a pair of games at Liberty (Feb. 14) and a neutral-site showdown with Michigan State (Feb. 15). The non-conference slate concluded in Richmond against VCU (March 1).
Sun Belt play begins with the first two home games of the season, when the Dukes host Marshall (March 7) and App State (March 9).
After road trips to Georgia State (March 14) and Troy (March 16), JMU returns home for three straight games at Hillside. The Dukes will play Southern Miss (March 22) and South Alabama (March 23) on consecutive days before closing the month with rival Old Dominion (March 29).
The home portion of the regular season includes trips to Texas State (April 4) and Louisiana (April 6), Senior Day versus Georgia Southern (April 11) and the regular season finale at Coastal Carolina (April 19).
The Sun Belt Championship will take place April 24-27 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
