Cold, dry weather makes it easier for these diseases to spread as people spend more time indoors in closer quarters.
Dr. Bhairava Kuppuswamy of WVU Internal Medicine said it's not a particularly severe flu season so far. When you get a cold or flu, it's important to pay attention to how long your symptoms last and know when to call your doctor, he said.
