Reports of the tremor began at 1.22pm (ACDT) in the town of Hooker in the Flinders Ranges.

The epicenter of the quake appears to have been near Flinders Ranges National Park, according to Australian Geosciences.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers and was felt by more than 120 people.

The earthquake was initially measured at magnitude 5.1.

Residents of surrounding suburbs reported feeling the quake on social media.
