'Waiting impatiently': PM Modi responds as Omar shares photos ahead of Z-Morh tunnel inauguration
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed excitement over the inauguration of the Z-Morh tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district, insisting that he was looking forward to his visit.
Security has been beefed up around the Z-Morh tunnel which is expected to be opened by Prime Minister Modi on January 13.

The Prime Minister's response came after J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Sonmarg to review the preparations for the event.
The inauguration of the Z-morh tunnel will open Sonmarg to tourism all year round, Sonmarg will now be developed as a major ski resort. Local people will not have to leave in winter and travel time to Kargil/Leh from Srinagar will also be reduced, Omar said while sharing photos on X.
Omar also posted aerial photos and videos of the tunnel on the social media platform.

According to an official statement, the entire project, including the 12 km tunnel, was constructed at a cost of over Rs 2,700 crore. It includes the main Sonamarg tunnel, an exit tunnel and access roads.
Situated at an altitude of over 8,650 feet above sea level, it will improve all-weather connectivity between Srinagar and Sonamarg en route to Leh, bypassing landslide and avalanche routes, says the press release.
The project will also promote tourism by transforming Sonamarg into a year-round destination, boosting winter tourism, adventure sports and local livelihoods, it adds.
